When should I buy my best baby stroller when pregnant? Many moms to be have asked me this question before. And with time I have come to learn that it’s one of the most sought after concerns for expectant mothers. There is no need to worry. Today in this post I am going to take you through the ideal time for buying baby gears and more specifically a baby stroller.
General Baby Stuff
I was 19 weeks pregnant and had already started buying baby stuff. Once in a while when I got the money, I would fit in a few stuff into my budget and buy them up. This made the whole process of buying baby stuff really easy. I never felt the strain and by the time I was going into labor, most of my baby stuff were ready.
At 19 weeks, I had already brought in a baby crib, pack n play, changing table, high chair, crib mattress, and rocking chair. I wanted to make the major purchases first before I changed into the little things like clothes, bathtub, supplies, towels, and other minor accessories.
One thing that you have to remember if you are going to go with my example is to buy gender neutral things unless you already know the sex of the baby. But more importantly gender neutral things should go for the bigger things and more specifically if you want to have more children in the future.
Buying the Best Baby Stroller
A baby stroller is a very important baby gear especially for new parents who want to move around with their babies a lot or even for those who haven’t found the best bay nannies for their infants.
However, when to buy a baby stroller has been a confusing aspect. Some people believe that it’s a jinx if you bought it early while others don’t. Let me say something here; by the time I was 19 weeks pregnant I had already bought my best travel baby jogger.
I have also seen people who bought it way early and also those who really bought late. Surprisingly, I have also seen parents who bought strollers after having their baby and still nothing happened out of the ordinary.
How, when, why, and what type of stroller to buy depends solely on your preferences and possibly budget.
If you get a great stroller for a great price/bargain, why wait for nine months to grab it? If the style and design is cool and you have the money, why postpone the buy. Personally I would suggest the following questions if you want a baby stroller.
- Is it the right design?
- Is the price right for us?
- Do I have the money now?
- Does it have the mark of quality?
- What do the reviews say about it?
Generally, the most important thing is to buy the right stroller at any given time when you can. I often advice new parents to buy the major baby gears early so that when the baby comes buying the smaller things become easy.
Can I Buy the Stroller Later?
Yes you can buy your best baby stroller later. And here is my argument, baby strollers are recommended for use when the baby is over six months old. Usually, when the baby’s neck muscles are strong enough and when they can hold their heads up and also withstand the stroller rides.
This makes up for a good reason why you can buy the most important baby accessories first and possibly buy your stroller later on when the baby has been born. Additionally, if you don’t have enough money for stroller, there isn’t any harm holding on and buying your baby stroller once the baby has come around.
The budget however plays a key role when you intend to buy a baby stroller for your coming infant.
Other Baby Gears that You Can Buy
Apart from the baby stroller, there are a number of things that you should also buy for your baby. They include the following.
- Gliders: For soothing the baby
- Rockers: Easy feeding and also soothing the baby to sleep.
- Pregnancy Books: Having the best step by step pregnancy tips.
- Newborn cloths: Buy general sex clothes, it eases up budget for next babies.
- Changing Table: Provides great areas for baby to change diapers/ nappies
- Baby Bedding: Includes sheets for baby’s bassinet and crib
- Baby Crib: A great sleeping place for your baby.
Conclusion
I hope you already have a rough idea of when to buy your baby stroller. I would suggest buying one within the second trimester. However, if the funds are hard to come by, why not wait until you have it ready? There is actually no harm whatsoever! If you don’t know which is the best stroller to go with, click here.
