MindWare Coloring Chart Makes Learning Geography Fun

Posted on Mar 4, 2014 by No Comments

If you’re a homeschooling mom, or just looking for an educational activity to teach your child about geography, this coloring chart of the United States from MindWare looks like a fun activity.

The chart measures 40″ x 28″ and features state facts, brain teasers, and a picture hunt.

A set of 12 markers is included with the chart, but reviewers say the paper is so large that the markers will dry out before the project is done. So, I would plan on having extra markers on hand for your kids just in case they need them.

The activity is recommended for children ages six and up. You could certainly try it with a younger child, but I know my son didn’t have any interest in detailed coloring projects until about first grade.

The coloring chart sells for $14.95 on the MindWare website. You can also buy a coloring chart world map for $14.95 or a set of both maps for $24.95.

If you have the space, it would be fun to get this map laminated when it was finished and then display it someplace in your home. You could use pushpins to note places that your family has visited or all of the locations where your child’s aunts, uncles, and cousins live.

Do your kids like to color? If so, do you think they’d enjoy an activity like this?
