Etsy Shop Spotlight: The Little Blue Birdie

When you’re planning a long family road trip, experts often recommend buying a few new goodies to help keep your little one entertained. Eco-friendly travel activity kits from The Little Blue Birdie look like just the thing to keep young children happily occupied without the use of video game systems, DVD players, or other electronic devices.

Each travel activity set is a little different, but many include mini chalkboards, handmade memory matching games, puzzles, wooden blocks, play dough, and small journals with colored pencils. All of the sets come packaged in a pretty drawstring bag with The Little Blue Birdie shop logo. The bags are sized to easily slip into a purse, diaper bag, or backpack.

Everything on The Little Blue Birdie Etsy shop is priced at $30 or less, so these small treats are very affordable. My son is too old for most of the activities now, but I would have loved something like this during the toddler or preschool years.

The bags would have been especially handy for trips to visit older relatives who don’t have their own selection of age appropriate children’s toys. The handmade memory games are adorable and I think matching games are the perfect activity for people of all ages to play together.

The Little Blue Birdie has been selling on Etsy since March, 2013, so this is one of the newer shops on the site. The shop’s owner, Melissa, lives in Cape Maine, ME.
