Santa Barbara Bars Are Packed with Nutritional Superfoods
Peter Gaum, founder of Santa Barbara Bars, has proven that you don’t have to sacrifice nutrition for great taste.
Santa Barbara Bars are made with a host of nutritional superfoods, including cranberries, chia seeds, pumpkin seeds, and sunflower seeds. The bars contain no added soy protein or refined sugar. They are GMO free as well as gluten free.
Santa Barbara Bars are a good source of protein, fiber, and Omega 3, and Omega 6. They’re generously sized and less than 200 calories per bar, so they are great as an on-the-go breakfast or an afternoon snack that won’t blow your diet.
Santa Barbara Bars come in three flavors:
- Cranberry White Chocolate
- Peanut Chocolate Cherry
- Coconut Almond
I expected these bars to have a slightly medicinal taste like most of the protein bars I’ve tried, but they’re pretty close to a normal granola bar as far as taste goes. I love the Peanut Chocolate Cherry flavor. The Cranberry White Chocolate Flavor is also tasty, although I can’t taste much chocolate in it. I’m not a big coconut fan myself, but the Coconut Almond flavor was my son’s favorite.
As far as I can tell, the only drawback to these bars is their limited availability. I couldn’t find a single store in my state that sells the bars.
You can buy them online, but you have to buy an entire box of 12 in a single flavor. I really wish they’d offer a box of mixed flavors, because I tend to get bored eating the same thing over and over. I suppose I could buy one box of each flavor and dole them out slowly, but that’s too much of my weekly grocery budget to spend at once.
Visit the Santa Barbara Bar website to search for a store in your area or to buy the bars online.
