If you’re trying to “go green” at home, LooHoo wool dryer balls are a must-have product. Traditional dryer sheets and fabric softeners are made with toxic chemicals like Alpha-Terpineol, Benzyl Alcohol, Chloroform, Ethyl Acetate, Linalool, and Pentane.

LooHoos are made of wool fibers that naturally absorb static cling and eliminate odors from your laundry. As an added benefit, the motion of the balls against the fabric softens your clothes and allows more air to circulate around your wet laundry so your clothing will dry faster.

My husband isn’t a huge fan of scented laundry products, so I prefer using the LooHoos as is. However, if you want to add a scent to your clothes, you can add a few drops of essential oil to the dryer balls before tossing them into your laundry.

In my personal experience, the LooHoo wool dryer balls are just as effective at reducing static cling as the dryer sheets I normally buy. They also shave 10 to 15 minutes off the drying time of each load of laundry, which helps reduce my electric bill and gets me through my daily to-do list a bit quicker.

The only potential downside to the LooHoo dryer balls is that they’re kind of noisy. There are several online reviewers who claim that the LooHoo dryer balls are less noisy than plastic dryer balls, but they’re definitely noisier than using a dryer sheet. Fortunately, this isn’t a deal breaker for me because I usually have my dryer running downstairs while I’m writing upstairs.

LooHoos are supposed to last for several hundred loads of laundry. I found multiple reviewers online who claim they’ve been using their LooHoos for over a year with no decrease in effectiveness.

LooHoos can be purchased individually or in multipacks. A set of three is enough for a small to medium load of laundry in a regular sized dryer. Visit the LooHoo website for details.
