Little Green Offers a Natural Way to Prevent Head Lice

Having my child end up with head lice is one of my worst nightmares as a parent. I had hair down to my waist in elementary school and spent many hours in the school nurse’s office getting my hair checked for lice every time my school had an infestation.

Little Green Lice Guard Shampoo is unique because it uses a blend of tea tree, neem, rosemary, peppermint, lavender, and eucalyptus essential oils to help repel head lice. This is a gentle way to prevent your child from ending up with head lice and having to go through a time consuming clean up process.

The shampoo has a fairly strong smell due to the use of the essential oils, but it’s not quite as medicinal smelling as I had feared. The scent dissipates about an hour or so after you’ve used the product.

The shampoo, like other Little Green products, is a low lathering formula. If you’re letting your child use it independently in the shower, make sure he or she knows that only a small amount of product is needed to get clean hair. My son is nine and tends to use twice as much of a product that has a low lather unless I specifically remind him he only a needs a dime sized amount.

All in all, I think this product is useful if your child’s school is experiencing problems with head lice and you want to take a proactive approach to make sure your child doesn’t end up infected.

In addition to the Little Green Lice Guard Shampoo, the company also makes a Lice Guard Detangler and Lice Guard Styling Gel. Using all three products together ensures the maximum possible level of protection.
