Just Say No to Bottled Water
The next time you run to the store to buy bottled water, think twice. In addition to being expensive, the plastic bottles you’re buying contribute to landfill waste and can expose you to harmful levels of BPA.
If you are buying bottled water for your kids, a recent study indicates that you may even be putting them at a higher risk of developing cavities by depriving them of much needed fluoride.
To make tap water more convenient, you need to invest in a few handy water bottles that you can fill up when you’re out and about. This stylish “Tap Is Terrific” water bottle from Faucet Face fits the bill and makes a statement about the benefits of saying no to the bottled water industry.
The bottle is made from glass that is twice as thick as the average beer bottle or Snapple bottle, so it’s sturdy enough to hold up to everyday use. It’s 8 inches tall, holds 14.4 oz. of liquid, and is dishwasher safe for easy cleaning. The typography was done by renowned designer Seb Lester.
Buying in bulk appears to be the way to go for this product. One “Tap Is Terrific” bottle is $15, but you can get two for $25, three for $35, four for $45, or five for $55.
For every five bottles that the company sells, Faucet Face will donate one BioSand filter to a family in India that is in need of safe drinking water. These filters eliminate 90 to 95% of impurities from drinking water, which is important because contaminated water causes dysentery, cholera, and diarrhea. Every day, diarrhea alone causes over 1,600 deaths in India.
