Essio Turns Your Shower into an Aromatherapy Spa

Moms don’t get vacations, but that doesn’t mean you can’t sneak in a little pampering with the Essio aromatherapy shower kit. Essio provides a unique way for you to experience the benefits of essential oils in the comfort of your own home.

The Essio starter kit comes with the shower head attachment and three essential oil pods filled with a blend of USDA and Australia certified organic essential oils:

  • Passion: This pod is a blend of mandarin orange, lavender, rose maroc, patchouli, and balsam. I loved the Passion pod that came with my Essio starter kit. It left me feeling relaxed and in the mood for a fun night with my hubby. When I purchase refill pods for my kit, Passion is at the top of my list.
  • Unwind: This pod is a blend of sweet orange, bergamot, lavender, patchouli, and vetiver. Unwind is great for when you’re feeling really tense, so feel free to slip it in your Essio after your preschooler just gave little sis an unauthorized haircut.
  • Breathe: This pod is a blend of cedarwood, peppermint, lemon, and eucalyptus. Breathe is not a great pod for everyday use, but awesome if you’re dealing with a cold or sinus troubles.

The Essio attachment is really easy to install, since it basically just clips on your showerhead. To use one of the pods, you remove the cap and snap it into the attachment. The oil is slowly released while you’re taking a shower.

When you’re finished with your shower, you need to remove the pod and put it back into the storage container with the cap back on. This was the hardest part of the process for me. I forgot to remove the Unwind pod after my second shower and ended up with a very fragrant bathroom.

Each Essio pod should last for three or four showers, depending upon how long you’re lingering under the water. I got three nice long showers from all of the pods in my sample kit, except for the one that I forgot to remove when I was done. Refill pods for your aromatherapy diffuser can be purchased on the Essio website.

Sounds like a cool product and a nice escape for a few minutes! But does the oil linger in the air or stick onto the shower tiles making it hard to clean?

It makes your bathroom smell nice when you’re done, but I haven’t noticed any sort of oily residue on the shower. The pods are fairly small though, so I don’t think there’s enough oil in them to create a mess even if you squirted them directly on the shower walls.
