Dior Homme Cologne Is a Good Gift for the Man in Your Life
Dior Homme is one of my favorite colognes, ranking right up there with my other favorite, Dolce & Gabbana The One for Men and some other one I don’t even know the name of anymore because it was a gift and the name of it was on the box but not the bottle.
I gave my husband a bottle of it on Father’s Day and then felt compelled to replace it instead of choosing a new one for him (he always makes me choose his cologne) after his almost full bottle shattered on the bathroom floor of our hotel room when we were on a family vacation.
Dior Homme is herbal and earthy, but cozy and warm all at the same time. Notes, according to the Sephora website, include lavender, sage, cardamom, iris, cocoa bean, amber, vetiver, patchouli, and leather. I love it on my husband year-round, even though it sounds like it could be more of a winter scent than a summer one.
It’s never overbearing, but it does last all day long. The scent rubs off on my seatbelt when he drives my car over the weekends and I can still enjoy it on Mondays while he’s at work. I love that I can smell it on him from a couple of feet away but it doesn’t come across as a “strong” scent.
To me, this is a masculine scent that says “family man” and not “player.” It’s strong (in character, not sillage) and…dare I say sensitive, for lack of a better word. I think it makes a good gift for men in their late 20s and beyond.
