Alter Eco’s Organic Dark Black Truffles are rich and indulgent, with a smooth creamy center. If you’re looking for a better way to indulge your sweet tooth, this is the perfect option.

The truffles are made with just seven ingredients: cane sugar, cacao beans, coconut oil, cocoa butter, whole milk powder, caramel flavor, and vanilla beans. Coconut oil offers a host of health benefits, including helping to lower cholesterol and positive affecting blood sugar control hormones.

Alter Eco is committed to being environmentally and socially responsible. The company’s Organic Dark Black Truffles are made with 99.93% organic ingredients and 97% Fair Trade certified ingredients. (Milk powder and butter are sourced locally and are therefore not fair trade certifiable.)

Aside from the fact that the chocolate itself is amazingly tasty, I love that Alter Eco used sustainable packaging. The truffle wrappers and the inner bag are made from tree fiber and nontoxic ink so they are entirely compostable. In the typical home compost bin, the wrapper will decompose in just six short weeks. You can purchase Alter Eco Organic Dark Black Truffles exclusively at a Whole Foods Market store near you. There are 10 truffles in a 4.2 ounce box. Suggested retail price is $7.99 per box.

Alter Eco also makes a Velvet (dark milk chocolate) truffle option.

I have been trying to get my taste buds around dark chocolate because I’ve been a big milk chocolate fan all my life. I’m up to 50% cacao and am working up to 72% and higher this year. These look like they might be worth a try! Love a creamy center.
