A Stylish Alternative to a Traditional Alarm Clock

Even though studies say well-rested people should be able to wake up on time without an alarm clock, I think it’s safe to say most of us require a little push to get up and moving in the morning.

If you’re in the market for a new alarm clock and appreciate well designed products, check out this cool bird shaped clock from IDEA International.

This alarm clock looks like a stylish home decor piece. The clock portion is only visible on the back side of the wooden bird.

Instead of an alarm, you are woken up with a bird song. I’m not sure this would be suitable for a heavy sleeper, but if you wake up at the drop of a pin it would probably be less annoying than a loudly buzzing alarm clock.

Even though I’m not a morning person, I’m a fairly light sleeper. A bird chirping would easily wake me up. My son and my husband, however, would need to have a regular alarm clock.

The bird alarm clock can be purchased on Y Living for $40.

What do you think of this idea? Would you like a stylish bird alarm clock or would you prefer to stick with a more traditional design?

This alarm looks great! I love birds, and waking up to a bird song would be wonderful.
