A Simple Way to Help Keep Little Ones Safe

Posted on Mar 17, 2014 by No Comments

Being in crowded public places with small children always makes me really nervous. When my son was a toddler, I was terrified he’d get lost and wouldn’t know how to find his way back to me. I would have loved a product like Uh Oh Bands to provide us with a little extra peace of mind.

Uh Oh Bands are waterproof silicone rubber bracelets with a simple safety message. The bracelet says “I’m Lost” with the international safety symbol of the cross and has a space for you to write your phone number. If your child gets lost in a crowded public place, all he or she needs to do is find a trustworthy adult and point to the bracelet. (I’ve heard several people say to tell your child to look for another mom with small children and ask her for help, which seems like a decent idea to me.)

The Uh Oh Bands come in red, pink, and blue. There is also a glow in the dark version that would be great for night time activities like trick or treating on Halloween or watching fireworks on the fourth of July.

If your child has allergies, there’s also a version of this bracelet with space to write your child’s allergy information.

All of the Uh Oh Bands sell for $10 each and can be purchased from their website. The bracelets are 6 1/2 inches around. They are made for toddlers and preschoolers who don’t know their emergency phone numbers yet, but are stretchy enough that they would work with older kids if needed.

What do you think of this product?
