An Eco-Friendly Manicure for Your Little Princess

If your little girl loves to play beauty parlor, it’s important to make sure she’s not being exposed to dangerous toxins in the process. Ecoprincess non-toxic nail polish is 3-Free, which means it does not contain formaldehyde toluene, and dibutyl phthalate (DBP). These chemicals can cause asthma, cancer, reproductive harm, and other negative health effects with long-term exposure.

The nail polish is sold in sets of three coordinating colors packaged in a pink organza bag with a ribbon drawstring. The bottles are quite tiny, so if your daughter spills them you won’t end up with nail polish all over the floor. The polish itself goes on fairly sheer, so you should probably plan on doing at least two coats.

The Ecoprincess colors are designed to appeal to young girls. The set I received was called “Flower” and featured three colors: a bright purple, a pale pink with subtle sparkles, and a clear polish with flecks of purplish glitter. Of all the colors, I liked the pale pink with subtle sparkles the best. It’s feminine enough to make your daughter feel pretty, but not real noticeable from a distance.

I’d suggest the pale pink on her fingers and the purple with a glitter top coat on her toes. If you’re going to be brave and let your daughter paint your nails, go for the pale pink so mistakes aren’t quite as noticeable!

The nail polish is not peelable play nail polish. It is intended to be worn for at least a few days, then removed with nail polish remover. Traditional nail polish remover is also full of all sorts of nasty chemicals, so I would recommend picking up a bottle of Ecoprincess’s All Natural Nail Polish Remover with your polish order.

Considering the number of times kids have their fingers in their mouths, a safer kind of nail polish makes perfect sense!
