One thing I remember about being a little girl was wanting to be able to design my own outfits. Remember the old Fashion Plates (for you moms that were kids in the late 70s/early 80s)? It allowed you to mix and match different shirts, pants, etc. to create one-of-a-kind outfit. I loved that! And while attending a blog conference recently, I fell in love with Fashion Playtes.
Fashion Playtes is a company that lets your little fashionista create her own piece of clothing! Geared for girls’ sizes 6–14, I was surprised at how many different options there were to choose from. It’s fun to spend time designing different styles, and those styles can be saved without purchasing them . . . which makes it a fun way to keep your child entertained and using her creative juices as well!
So how does it work?
The Fashion Playtes website is extremely user friendly, and has an easy-to-navigate menu of designer choices and embellishments.
The only thing I wasn’t super crazy about was knowing that each piece of clothing contains a large Fashion Playtes label on it. You do have the option to purchase a custom-designed label for an extra $5, showing your child as the designer of this garment. There is no option to NOT have a label at all. Depending on the garment you design, the colors/style of the garment and the label may not match.
But overall, I love this website and can’t wait for my girls to be old enough to use it! In the meantime, I’ll just continue spreading the word about the site and maybe even purchase a gift certificate for my niece’s upcoming birthday!
