Wooden Dinosaurs Spark a Child’s Imagination
My son’s class had a unit about dinosaurs earlier this year and he’s been in love with all things dinosaur-related ever since. If you also have a young dino lover at home, I think these hand carved wooden dinosaurs would be fun to play with as well as an attractive room decoration.
I think the coolest thing about these dinosaurs is that when you blow into the small hole on each dinosaur’s back, it makes a roaring sound. This is a great way to bring dinosaur stories to life. Plus, you get all the fun of sound effects without the annoyance of constantly have to change the batteries!
The dinosaurs are handmade in Thailand from plastic and monkey pod wood. The dinosaurs are sanded smooth to be safe for children ages three and up. They are not recommended for children under three years of age due to small parts that might be a possible choking hazard.
The dinosaurs are available on the Uncommon Goods website. You can choose from either a triceratops or a tyrannosaurus rex. Each dinosaur is $30.
The only potential drawback to these dinosaurs that I can see is that my son would probably want to paint them right away. He’s a big fan of painting anything wooden or ceramic, so I suspect he’d see these a one art project in progress.
What do you think of these wooden dinosaurs? Is this a toy your child would enjoy?
