Calling all moms of Wonder Woman fans again: the DC Comics Presents: Wonder Woman Adventures 100-Page Spectacular is rated E for everyone, so kids of all ages will be able to enjoy the stories.
Wonder Woman comics are usually rated T for teens, but these stories are collected from the DC Universe’s All Ages series (so they’ve been published as single comics previously). My four-year-old loves it when we use these as bedtime stories; there’s action and fighting, of course, but nothing too scary.
A new regular Wonder Woman comic is $2.99 for about 22 pages, but this collection is 100 pages for $7.99. I haven’t been able to find it online in too many stores, so check with your local comic shops or bookstores to locate this one if it seems like something your son or daughter might enjoy.
The first issue is supposed to be displayed through September of this year, though some stores may keep it on the shelves longer than that. If you can’t find it, eBay is a good place to check.
This book doesn’t just have Wonder Woman; there are appearances from Superman, Batman, Green Lantern, and the Flash. Poison Ivy, Catwoman, and Cheetah also show up, among others. The colors are vibrant and there’s enough detail, as with any comic, to hold a child’s interest as you read the text (if your child can’t read yet), or as they do.
I’m a huge fan of these whopping Wonder Woman comic collections, and DC Comics, in my opinion, doesn’t do enough Wonder Woman promotion. I would love to see these continue.
