Welch’s Fruit Snacks Are a Tasty Treat for Family Movie Night

Are Welch’s fruit snacks the next best thing to real fruit? Not really. You’d be better off eating an apple, orange, or banana instead of gummy concoctions that are shaped to look like actual fruit.

Everyone knows this. Even my seven-year-old has given up arguing that fruit snacks are a substitute for actual fruit.

But, Welch’s fruit snacks are really tasty. If you love gummy bears, like both my son and I do, these are every bit as addictive. They don’t have the cute gummy bear shape, but they’re made with fruit juice at least. So, this means they provide 100% of your vitamin C and 25% of vitamins A and E per serving. They’re also fat free, gluten free, and have no preservatives.

For me, Welch’s fruit snacks have another important benefit of being readily available. A lot of the organic or all-natural fruit snacks I’ve seen are simply not sold in stores in my rural community. I like that these are something I can pick up with the rest of my groceries.

I’ve even seen them for sale at a few gas stations! Welch’s fruit snacks are also very reasonably priced, which is a plus given my family’s limited grocery budget.

So, while I wouldn’t send them with my son in his school lunch everyday, I’m totally OK with Welch’s fruit snacks being a more nutritious alternative to gummy bears during our Friday night popcorn and Netflix family time.

I just need to make sure I don’t buy too many of them at once, because they’re so yummy I have a hard time limiting myself to a reasonable portion!

I think treating them as an alternative to candy is a great idea.  I’m always looking for ways to improve family movie night.  We even pop our own popcorn on the stove so I don’t have to feel guilty about using the microwave haha!
