Ideally, the perfect shoe is cute and comfortable. But, when I look for shoes, I want comfort more than looks. I’d rather wear a pair of butt-ugly Crocs and be comfortable than suffer all day in a pair of $200 stilettos.
For me, Vans solid color slip-on shoes are a good compromise. You can’t wear them with an evening gown, but my day-to-day life as a mom doesn’t let me attend too many formal balls anyway.
Vans slip-ons are lightweight casual shoes with a sleek and contemporary look. They’re a favorite shoe among skateboarders, but you don’t need to be skateboarding to appreciate having comfortable shoes that look great with jeans and a t-shirt.
The slip-on design makes them easy to get on and off when you’re running late for school in the morning or you’ve gotten sand in your shoe after taking your kids to the playground. They come in black, espresso, white, charcoal, and navy. They feature canvas uppers and vulcanized waffle rubber outsoles. They’re comfortable enough to wear all day with no problems.
Vans are fairly affordable at regular retail price, but you can get some great deals if you shop at Famous Footwear. The pair I’m wearing currently were only $7.50 after the sale price and the rewards certificate I earned buying snow boots for my son at the store.
I’ve only purchased Vans slip-on shoes for myself, but they do come in children’s sizes. The next time I need to buy shoes for my son, I’ll be looking into getting him a pair.
Do you buy Vans shoes for your family? If so, please share your favorite styles or tips for getting a great footwear bargain!
