My son’s artistic specialty is monsters and zombies, but as soon as I can convince him to draw me a pretty flower, I want to get one of these Doodle Tags from Mommy Tags.
I love the modern look of the 1-inch recycled silver tag. It’s casual enough to wear with jeans and a t-shirt, which is perfect for me because I seldom manage to go anyplace that requires “nice” jewelry.
When you order a Doodle Tag, you also get a rubber stamp featuring your child’s doodle. You can use the stamp to make customized thank you cards and wrapping paper, which would be great for grandparent or day care provider gifts.
The website also suggests using your stamp to make fabric creations like shirts or pillowcases, although I personally have not had very much luck with fabric stamping projects.
If your kids are past the doodling stage, but you still want a necklace, consider purchasing Payton’s Tag. (This is the doodle shown in the picture accompanying this post.) Profits from the purchase of this tag are donated to various children’s charities throughout the United States.
In addition to the Doodle Tags, Mommy Tags also sells tags with the names and birth dates of your children. I think it would be fun to combine a Doodle Tag with the name of your favorite little artist to add a bit of extra pizazz to your one-of-a-kind necklace.
What do you think of Doodle Tags? Does this seem like a good alternative to jewelry featuring the birthstones of your children?
