In the Midwest, summer means grilling. Hamburgers are everyone’s favorite thing to throw on the grill, but the high fat content in ground beef can be a cause for concern. One of my family’s favorite alternatives to ground beef is Jennie-O All Natural Turkey Burgers. Using these burgers at your next cookout is an easy way to cut the fat content of your meal by 50%.

My family actually eats ground turkey on a fairly regular basis. I’ve tried a few different recipes for turkey burgers, but I like these the best because they are pre-seasoned and easy to give to hubby to throw on the grill. They are slightly more expensive than buying a comparable amount of plain ground turkey, but the added convenience is worth it for me.

On the days when we don’t grill outside, we cook these burgers on our George Foreman grill. They are tasty this way too, although you do need to watch to make sure you don’t overcook them. Since the turkey burgers have less fat than ground beef, they get kind of dry when they are overcooked.

Turkey burgers from Jennie-O don’t taste exactly like ground beef, but there is minimal difference once you’ve added all your fixings to the patty. We’ve served these burgers to several friends who swore they’d never like ground turkey and they all agreed that they are quite good.

You can find Jennie-O All Natural Turkey Burgers in the freezer section of most major supermarkets.

Have you tried Jennie-O All Natural Turkey Burgers? If so, what did you think?
