I’m trying to get in shape in time for summer so that I can put a pair of shorts on without embarrassing myself. One of the things I’m trying to do is to count the calories I’ve eaten and burned throughout the day.
It’s a lot harder than it sounds if you haven’t done it before…especially if you are a busy mom with kids! BodyMedia Fit Arm Band might just be able to help me.
BodyMedia FIT is an on-body monitoring system that consists of the BodyMedia FIT Armband monitor, online Activity Manager, an optional display and free downloadable apps for mobile device users.
The arm band tracks the calories burned during your daily activities and monitors the quality of your sleep, an important factor in weight loss. The information tracked is managed with BodyMedia’s online Activity Manager, where you can add in the easy-to-use food log so you can improve your weight loss.
The arm band uses four sensors that capture over 5,000 data points per minute  things like heat and sweat to steps and calories burned.
Then, you upload the information to the online Activity Manager, which analyzes the data. This helps you manage and track fitness and weight loss progress. You will have a running report on progress toward goals, including calorie burn, steps taken, time spent in moderate and vigorous activity, nutritional analysis and sleep efficiency.
Every little bit helps, right? The band costs around $150 – a little out of my price range since I’m not taking my weight loss too seriously right now, but for die hards, it might be worth it!
