Recently, my son and I had a chance to test out Optimus Prime – one of the six figures in the Transformers Rescue Bots collection from Playskool Heroes.
Transformers Rescue Bots are a great toy choice for young Transformer fans who can’t handle the motions involved in transforming the more complicated action figures. Each of the six figures in this line transforms from vehicle to robot with just one simple motion so that even a preschooler can transform the toy on his own.
Transformers Rescue Bots are sturdy and have no small pieces that could fall off or be a choking hazard. They are easy to clean with soap and water, so they would be a good toy for playing in the sandbox during the summer months.
The Playskool Heroes line of toys also includes Marvel Superhero Adventures, Marvel Spiderman Adventures, and Star Wars Jedi Force toys. They are all roughly the size of the Fisher-Price Imaginext figures and vehicles.
My son has several Imaginext figures and most of the Star Wars Jedi Force toys, so Optimus Prime has plenty of friends to play with at our house. It is always interesting to see what stories he makes up blending all of the characters together.
Transformers Rescue Bots are widely available in stores such as Walmart, Target, K-Mart, and Toys “R” Us. You can also order them online through the Hasbro website. Although the $12.99 retail price seems a bit high in my opinion, the fact that these toys are able to withstand so much rough play does make them worth the extra cost.
Transformers Rescue Bots are recommended for children ages 3 and up.
