The ZOOB Alien Creature Building Set Looks So Much Cooler Than Legos
I know there are some kids out there who love their Legos and nothing could ever compare, but for some kids, anything remotely like those little blocks are worthy of hours and hours of their time.
The Zoob Alien Creature Building Set isn’t even trying to compete with Legos, but it reminds me of them anyway, and in my mind, ZOOB wins. I wish my daughter would get into sets like this (the closest she’s gotten is the Tinkertoys set in pink).
From this set, you can create a two-foot tall alien, a spaceship, UFO, or anything else you want to make. The alien even has dangling eyeballs that light up, flashing antennae, and twelve other glow-in-the-dark pieces.
I love that there’s a “theme” that will inspire the kid to go off in a certain direction, but they can still build whatever they want once they get more comfortable with the way the pieces fit together.
With 200 pieces in the set, it seems like the possibilities would be endless for kids who enjoy putting things together—Legos, Tinkertoys, old computers…
This alien-building set is for ages six and up, and I can see a child who gets the set at age six enjoying it for years (assuming the pieces don’t get lost like they would at my house), and it comes with the batteries it needs. That’s nice, considering most toys don’t come with batteries these days.
For around $30.00, this looks like a great buy for a birthday gift or to keep a kid busy over the summer break.
