The Wonder File – Not As Wonderful As I Thought It Would Be

I’ve mentioned before I love buying “As Seen On TV” products. Some of them work really well (like the Vidalia Chop Wizard). But others? Not so much (think: The Bump It…remember that?) So when my brother told me he had bought the Wonder File, I was green with jealousy. And when he told me he got a two-for-one deal and that I could have the other one, I literally drove over to his house to get it the same day!

Have you seen the Wonder File infomercials? It opens from this folder-size organizer into the photo at the beginning of the post. It has center pockets for full size folders, corner pockets for storing bills or other loose papers, zippered pockets for items that you don’t want to fall out, and room for things like calculators (or as they suggest) a laptop. A laptop? Maybe if you have a laptop the size of an iPad!

I took it home and began to fill it up, excited to put all of my bills, and other stuff I usually leave shoved in the drawer under my computer or downstairs on the counter in one centralized place. I like the idea of being able to fold it up and carry it with me without carrying a bunch of loose papers around. The problem is, everytime I opened the Wonder File, papers would slip out of the pockets and I’d end up having to re-organize it all over again!

So while the Wonder File had me hoping for the best, it’s now sitting in the “To Donate” pile. Because If I bought a 3 ring binder and stuck a few Ziplock bags in it, I’d get the same results.

Have you tried the Wonder File out? What are your thoughts on it?

Nothing ever seems to work as well as they show them in the commercials, do they? Those sales pitches are great and the people who perform the demos make everything look so easy! The only thing I bought like that was the Magic Bullet, and while it’s a nice mini-blender for breakfast smoothies, it’s no miracle gadget like it appeared to be at first.
