There are a lot of pillows that aren’t just pillows on the market these days, and of course my daughter wants every single one of them. Not just one of each. Every animal. Every character.
Her bed’s not big enough for all of those, so we try to keep it to a minimum. My personal favorite does a little bit more than flip back and forth between a stuffed unicorn or ladybug and a flat pillow. It’s the Snow White Storybook Pillow, which is a plush pillow with a silky cover and a short eight-page story inside that tells Snow White’s story in perhaps the briefest way possible.
The pages are made of smooth polyester and when you’re done reading, there are three Velcro straps to connect the front cover of the book to the back so it’ll stay shut and in the right shape as your child sleeps.
The story itself, again, has several gaps when compared to the original fairy tale, but the general idea is there. You may want to fill in the holes with the full story or movie at some point, but if you’re traveling or just looking for a quick story because everyone’s exhausted, this one should work in a pinch.
And if you’ve forgotten to take books on an overnight trip but you did remember the pillow, you might be able to survive bedtime with fewer tears. It’s also surprisingly well-illustrated with vibrant colors, just like the regular Disney books.
The pillow is 22″ x 13″ and so soft and cozy, I’d like to go take a nap on it right now (it’s in my lap as I type). The inside cover and back are not as silky as the front cover and feel more like velour than satin, but either side would be comfortable to rest your head on.
