Are you doing what I’m doing right now, and scrambling to get into presentable shape for the upcoming summer months? If you are like me, you’ll try anything to speed up the process…never mind how long it took you to put the weight on!
I’ve been thinking of getting a pedometer so I can keep track of how much I’m walking – and that’s how I found the Nike+ Fuelband.
The Nike+ Fuelband is a bracelet that you wear all day, every day. It contains a three-axis accelerometer pedometer that detects motion and speed and to count steps. It has a built-in USB connector for uploading data to your computer and recharging the battery. You can even upload data to a smart phone app (available at iTunes).
After you enter some info about yourself, you can get moving. You’ll get a NikeFuel number that is based on speed and duration of movement. It is the way that the band tracks all of your activity, whatever it is.
It doesn’t just count your steps, though… it also tells you active calories burned and your NikeFuel total for the day. The closer you get to your NikeFuel goal, you’ll see dots that move from red through yellow to green.
And when you hit your goal for the day (you choose the goal), the word GOAL will appear and a little guy will show up dancing for you! You can also get extra rewards for achieving 1.5 times your goal and for doubling your goal.
Here’s the problem though: they are sold out on the Nike site and if you try to purchase it on Amazon.com, you have to pay double the price!
What do you think? Would you want to try out the Nike+ Fuelband?
