Coloring is one of those rare child-friendly activities I don’t mind doing. In fact, I actually find it rather relaxing. Give me a box of Crayolas with a new coloring book and I’ll be happy for hours.
Of course, my taste in coloring books isn’t quite the same as my son’s. His collection features cartoon characters, superheroes, and lots of animal scenes. I have my own Wonder Woman and Hello Kitty books, but I’m thinking I need to invest in a grown-up book like The Fashion Coloring Book. Or maybe I will just hint to the hubby and kiddo that this is what they should buy me for Mother’s Day.
The Fashion Coloring Book by Carol Chu and Lulu Chang is a book with illustrations featuring designs by Coco Chanel, Christopher Kane, Marc Jacobs, Karl Lagerfeld, Miu Miu, Alexander McQueen, and more. It’s perfect for moms who like to color, or even just moms who want to window shop while they watch their little ones color in pictures of SpongeBob and Scooby Doo.
I don’t buy designer clothes because even if I could afford them, I have no place to wear them. But, it’s fun to look and dream of what my life would be like as a glamorous single girl in the city. And, even though this is a bit expensive for a coloring book, The Fashion Coloring Book is an incredible bargain compared to actually buying any of the outfits that are pictured.
What do you think of The Fashion Coloring Book? Is this something you’d buy for yourself or a fellow mom friend?
