Since I’m very fair skinned, sunblock is a must during the summer months. One of my favorite sunscreens is Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry Touch sunblock.
What I like most about this sunblock is that it absorbs quickly and feels soft and smooth instead of oily. The scent is pleasant enough, too.
The Dry Touch sunblock is safe to use all over your body and face. I am acne prone and it doesn’t seem to bother my skin. It feels pretty natural when you apply it under your makeup. Currently, I’m using some SPF 70 I got as a sample with another purchase. But, if you’d prefer a lower SPF, I’ve seen this product in SPF 45 and SPF 55.
I’ve used the Dry Touch sunblock on my son with no problems. The label only says to avoid using it on babies under 6 months of age unless under the supervision of a physician.
Neutrogena sunscreen is waterproof and sweatproof, but it is still recommended that you reapply sunscreen after swimming or during extended time outdoors. All sunscreens start to lose their effectiveness under these conditions.
The only real drawback I can see to Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry Touch sunblock is that it’s one of the more expensive brands of sunscreen at your local drug store. But, you can cut costs somewhat by watching sales. Walgreens, Target, and other mass market retailers run frequent promotions on Neutrogena sunscreen during the summer months.
Regardless of what type of sunscreen you choose, remember to practice other methods of sun safety as well. Limit sun exposure during the peak hours of the day and invest in protective clothing like a broad-brimmed hat and UV-blocking sunglasses.
