Skorb Helps Your Kids Manage College Expenses

My son is only eight, so we have quite some time before he’ll be a college student.

But, if you have a college student in your home, I encourage you to check out Skorb.

This new website offers a way for students to earn extra money for books and living expenses. By creating a free account, they can earn cash back whenever they shop at selected stores.

Friends and family can also sign up to donate their cash back to the student of their choice.

Skorb operates in much the same way as Ebates and other cash back sites.

The selection of stores includes a wide variety of merchandise categories, including the types of things college students are most likely to buy. For example, you can earn 6% cash back from Textbooks.com and 5% cash back from Buckle.

In addition to earning cash back for online purchases, Skorb users can also add to their account balance by completing various surveys, product trials, and special offers. The site advertises payments of $10 to take surveys and $15 to $25 to try products.

Cash out requests can be made via check and a Skorb Card, which is a prepaid debit card that JP Morgan Chase issues site users free of charge.

You can request a cash outs at any time by this method and your card will be credited in 2-3 business days. You can treat the Skorb Card as cash or withdraw money from any ATM or bank.

Skorb was founded by Greg and Steven Brooks, 25 and 24 year old brothers who wanted to create a resource for helping college students cope with the rising cost of postsecondary education.

What do you think of Skorb? Is this a site you’d consider using to help a college student in your life?
