I am that person that sings every song on the radio and can even sing 80% of the lyrics correctly . . . but you would beg me to stop singing if you heard me! One of the things I loved doing when I was rocking my babies to sleep was to sing my favorite rock songs to them, but as a lullabye. I know it sounds goofy, but after singing “Rockabye Baby” 1,256,491 times, I was ready to try anything.

I wished I would have known about Rockabye Baby! back then! Rockabye Baby! is a variety of various albums that turn music that you would normally listen to into children’s lullabies. Think Bob Marley, AC/DC, Madonna, The Beatles, Black Sabbath, Kanye West, and many more. I’m completely serious and now completely in love with these albums.

The kid friendly instrumentals are soothing for little ones and fun for mom and dad to listen to. It’s all instrumental, but sing the lyrics along with it or make up your own words.

This site is so much fun! I probably spent a good hour just listening to the various songs of my favorite artists. There’s a huge variety, they are actually very soothing (even the Nine Inch Nails stuff is!), and reasonably priced.

Head over to the Rockabye Baby! now…it is fun and relaxing. You can even listen to clips of each song for free. You can also tune into the Rockabye Baby station on Pandora for free and scope out your favorite bands.

What do you think? What a great baby shower gift, wouldn’t you say?

This is sooo interesting. I’d like to listen to it before I buy. I’ll check it out.

At first I thought these would sound like Muzak versions, but after listening a little I can hear the difference: these are softer, bouncier instrumental versions that are actually geared to babies and I think a mom wouldn’t mind them too much! (Although I raised my own kids with real, classical music for bedtime, and bouncy Beatles and other 50s and 60s bands for playtime, and Bob Marley, Ray Charles and other chilled-out singers for reading/nap times.)

I love the artists you mention and can’t wait to listen to the pandora station immediately! I think my husband would really enjoy this music as well. What a great idea and it is so cool that all of these musicians did this.
