Remember when you got married and had to change your maiden name to your husband’s last name on everything? Remember what a nightmare it was? Yeah, me too. It’s a hassle, you always forget to change it somewhere, and it is a huge time suck to do it. Which is why I wish MissNowMrs.com was around when I went through the process.

MissNowMrs.com is an online name change service to help simplify the name-change process for brides. You can use this service before or after you get married, but you can’t file the forms until you receive your marriage certificate. It costs $29.95 for the name change package, and it only takes 3 easy steps to do it!

First you create an account a purchase the package. Then you will be send to the Questions Page to answer a series of general questions, and based on your initial answers, you will then be asked a few more state-specific and form related questions.

Next, your answers are used to auto-complete your Social Security, IRS 8822, U.S. Passport, USPS, State Driver’s License and State Voter Registration forms as well as notification letters to all your creditors. You have the opportunity to preview/proof all forms prior to sending them off.

Nervous about entering certain personal information, like your social security number or account numbers? No worries. You have the option to hand-write them on your forms instead.

After you finish proofreading your forms, you print them out. Each form or letter prints out with a detailed filing instruction sheet. The instruction sheet includes the order of form submission, fees, required filing documents, office locations/addresses, as well as insider tips on how to file the easiest way possible.

Everything that would normally take you hours to do is done in just an hour or so. And you have access to your account for 6 months so you can complete the process at your own pace.

What do you think of MissNowMrs.com? Would you recommend it to a new bride?

Good idea! It can get crazy trying to find out what you need to do esp. during that crazy transition time when you first get married.

interesting idea. Mine are changed, hopefully for good. I mean, I do hope my name stays Rose for the rest of my life. But for those of you who are there now, it saves a bit of hassle.
