Put on a Show with the Melissa & Doug Puppet Theater

What I like about Melissa & Doug toys is that they are all very well made. My son is extremely hard on his toys and every Melissa & Doug product I’ve purchased has held up wonderfully to his abuse. The Melissa & Doug Deluxe Puppet Theater is no exception.

Yes, you could save some money by making your own puppet theater. There are lots of instructions online, but most of the finished designs are rather ugly. The Melissa & Doug Deluxe Puppet Theater is attractive enough that I’m not embarrassed when it makes an appearance in my living room. The clock and the sign are a nice touch; my son loves to set the time for his show and write the title out in slightly sloppy capital letters.

The Melissa & Doug Deluxe Puppet Theater is recommended for children ages three and up. My seven year old son received it for his third birthday and still loves it. The puppet theater is also one of the most popular toys the kids play with when coming to our house. In my opinion, the theater qualifies as an investment purchase that should provide years of entertainment for most children.

Melissa & Doug offers a large assortment of puppets to go with the theater. We have the pirate, chef, and policeman. My son enjoys the puppets, but he plays with the dollar store hand puppets I purchased for him just as often. If you’re on a budget, my advice would be to invest in the theater and one or two special character puppets before rounding out your collection with some cheaper alternatives.

Cute…I’m a fan of anything that inspires kids’ creative side. We have fun with a simple flashlight and shadow puppets!
