I’ll be honest. Even though I would love and proudly wear anything my daughter wanted to give me, I don’t really like a lot of the “mom” jewelry floating around out there.
I would much rather have a sentimental piece of jewelry that I know the story behind (the occasion I received it or even the colors of the stones) than one that shouts from the rooftops that yes, I am in fact somebody’s mommy.
I found one company that is centered around creating mom jewelry that doesn’t look like the typical fare at department stores and even jewelry stores, and you know what? I’d wear it.
My favorites at Posh Mommy Jewelry are the initial discs, that you can make into pendants. I think the vintage initials are eye-catching, but understated enough to wear with anything. Having your child’s initial on it will mean something to you, probably more than a typical “MOM” necklace.
Other fonts have the option to add a birthstone, as well, which makes it even more personalized. These discs don’t come with chains, but you can purchase one for as little as $10, depending on the material you want to use.
In addition to the discs, you can get tags, loops, hearts, and bracelets. There are options for dads and kids in addition to moms, and available materials include sterling silver, 14K gold, and gold vermeil.
If you have more than one child, it’s easy to mix and match the shapes to layer onto one pendant, or you can attach multiple discs to one bracelet. Depending on the type of jewelry you choose, you can have an initial, a name, or a brief message engraved onto it. Even back engraving is possible if you have more to say.
I love this idea for special occasion gifts.
