I absolutely adore this cute customized owl 8 x 10 birth announcement from A Drop of Golden Sun on Etsy. The sweet little owl and the fresh typographical design seem like they’d be well at home in a little girl’s nursery. I think it would be especially cute if you had nursery bedding with a pink and green striped or floral pattern.
The print comes as an 8 x 10 or you can upgrade to an 11 x 14 for $6 extra. Personally, I would pay for the upgrade to the larger size because I like my wall art to make an impact. With an 8 x 10, even if it had a mat as part of the frame, I would be worried it would seem to get “lost” amongst the other stuff in the room.
Since the frame doesn’t come with the print, you’ll need to do some shopping around to find a frame that you like. When I’m buying frames, my favorite places are either Target or the local thrift shop. Thrift store frames often need a fresh coat of paint, but this is a very minor DIY project.
A Drop of Golden Sun has been on Etsy since September 2010. They have iPhone cases and personalized stationary, in addition to birth announcements. (If owls aren’t your thing, there are also birth announcements with monkeys, trains, butterflies, and sail boats.) Everything is very bold, colorful, and modern looking.
