My fascination with personalized merchandise goes back to when I was in kindergarten.

All of my friends had pink and purple personalized pencils from a local store, but I couldn’t get any because they only had a limited selection of names and mine wasn’t one of the choices.

Now, of course, we have access to a ton of websites offering personalized gifts. One option I recently discovered is that Melissa & Doug will personalize many of their most popular toys for you if you order directly from their website.

Go to the Personalize It section of their website to see what toys qualify for this service.

Personalization costs just $1.99, so this is a really affordable way to give a gift an extra-special touch. I’ve seen several places change $5 or $10 for personalization, so Melissa & Doug’s prices are very reasonable.

Most of the products I looked at had a 20 character maximum for your personalized message. Font options vary, but many of the products offer script, block, or rounded font choices.

Some of the products let you choose the color of the font as well.

There are lots of really cute things to personalize, but I’m kind of partial to the piano featured in this post. What a lovely way to encourage a budding musician!

You can also personalize many of their pretend play costumes, such as the doctor outfit or the princess dress.

Personalized gifts take an extra two business days to ship and can’t be returned, so you should keep this in mind if you’re ordering something for a birthday or other special occasion.
