Pepperidge Farm Pumpkin Swirl Bread Hits the Spot in the Fall

The limited edition Pumpkin Swirl breakfast bread from Pepperidge Farm is my new favorite. The flavor isn’t overwhelming but it’s definitely noticeable.

I’ve had it toasted with honey and with butter. Both were comforting starts to hectic days. I would suggest playing up the flavor even more with pumpkin butter if you have any on hand (I don’t yet).

I’m a bit of a pumpkin fiend, but I think that if you’re even kind of neutral on the flavor and like the idea of breakfast breads or a sweet slice of bread as an afternoon snack, you’ll love this one. My daughter loves it, too, and she’ll pass up other sweets she’s been asking for in exchange for the bread sometimes. She prefers it untoasted, so it’s good either way.

It’s not the healthiest choice in the bread world, for sure, since it has sugar, brown sugar, butter, and high fructose corn syrup (cringe), but I’d say it beats out most candy and several other sweet snacks, and it’s nice as an occasional comforting treat with a cup of hot apple cider or coffee. Everything in moderation, right? I like having this around the house now that fall is here.

There’s also another limited edition bread from Pepperidge Farm that sounds intriguing. It’s Caramel Apple Swirl. Which would you choose?
