Peanut Butter & Co. Dark Chocolate Dreams vs. Nutella

I know Nutella has a huge following among mothers with young children, but my family actually prefers Peanut Butter & Co. Dark Chocolate Dreams to Nutella.

I’ll buy Nutella if I can get a good deal, but Dark Chocolate Dreams is my “go-to” product otherwise. The chocolate to peanut taste ratio is more in line with a Reese’s peanut butter cup, which is one of my favorite candy bars.

Dark Chocolate Dreams has no cholesterol, no trans fats, no hydrogenated oils, and no high-fructose corn syrup. It’s gluten-free, certified vegan, and certified kosher pareve by the Orthodox Union.

It’s still peanut butter and chocolate, however, so it’s definitely not something you should be eating directly out of the jar. A two tablespoon serving has 170 calories and 14 grams of fat. In comparison, Skippy Creamy has 190 calories and 16 grams of fat per two tablespoon serving.

My favorite way to enjoy Dark Chocolate Dreams is on graham crackers, pretzels, or apple slices. If you have a lot of Nutella recipes printed off from sites like Pinterest, you can substitute Dark Chocolate Dreams in any of those as well.

I usually buy my Peanut Butter & Co. jars from Walmart or Target, but the company has a nice online store with several cool gift basket assortments that would be practical holiday present for your favorite peanut butter lover. There are also some baking mixes for cookies, and cakes that look like they’d be pretty delicious.

Have you tried Peanut Butter & Co. Dark Chocolate Dream? If so, how do you think it compares to Nutella.

If you buy online use Amazon, cheaper than
Walmart or Target if you use “subscribe & save” option. Also, far more important than calories or fat is sugar. PB&Co is like 7 grams of sugar per serving versus a WHOPPING 21 grams per serving with Nutela & most conventional peanut butters that have HFCS or sugar added. And nut fat is a good fat, lowers cholesteral. Low fat is not healthy especially if it’s low fat consumed with carbs like wheat, starch etc….Best bet is Justin’s Chocolate Almond or Chocolate Hazelnut IMHO. Almonds are just better for you than peanuts.
