Parenting Flashcards
Remember what your vocabulary was like before you had kids?
It was missing a lot of words that are part of your day-to-day life now – some that maybe you wish weren’t playing such a big part, like “sleep deprivation,” “co-sleeping,” “time out,” and “diaper leakage.”
Yep, parents have a language all their own – a language that parents-to-be and new parents have no idea about.
When I was pregnant, bossy, experienced parents bugged me. I know they were trying to be helpful, but they really got on my nerves with their know-it-all attitudes.
If they wanted to give me some sound advice, gifting me these Parenting Flashcards might’ve gone over just a little bit better.
This is a humorous set of 50 cards, each with a parenting vocabulary word and its definition. Vintage photos and illustrations accompany the definitions.
Instead of telling your expectant girlfriend that diaper duty can be really disgusting, she can simply take out the card entitled “poo finger” and read it for herself. Since the definition is coming from a third-party source, she can be assured that it’s reliable and unbiased.
The card also uses the word in a sentence so readers can know how to use it properly in playdate conversation.
This set has got to be hysterically funny, and a perfect, perfect gift for new parents.
The cards are 3×5 and come with an official “game insert” for a rousing party with fellow parents.
Parenting Flashcards are $11 for the set and can be purchased at Knock-Knock.
