New Mom’s Life Calendar

There are calendars for moms. And there are baby books for babies.

With the craziness of raising two kiddos, I didn’t get around to finishing my second child’s baby book until she was 5. Shh, don’t tell anyone. It’s fairly embarrassing.

But maybe if I had only one “book” to maintain, it would have been easier?

I guess that’s the concept behind the New Mom’s Life Calendar.

It’s described as a way to document your baby’s first year…and events in your life as well, while doing double-duty as a normal monthly calendar.

“Each book comes with stickers to mark those funny and sweet events of year one: melt-down moments, facing the scale, dodging pee streams and more.”

Then I started thinking about it: what about including stickers for mom’s first full night of sleep after having baby? Returning to pre-pregnancy jeans (does that ever happen)? Leaving for a night out away from baby without freaking? Does it include markers for all of those things?

Well, amazingly, there is a sticker for returning to pre-pregnancy  jeans! So apparently it does happen. I’m still waiting. There are all sorts of stickers that can mark the important events in those whirlwind 12 months.

This product appears to be a great solution for scrapbook-a-phobia. You could just carry this 8×8 book in your purse and keep track of your appointments as well as baby firsts. It makes a great shower gift, that’s for sure!

You can check out the New Mom’s Life Calendar at Sofia Bean. It costs $18.

Anything that simplifies mommyhood is great. Don’t feel bad about that second baby book; mine is still empty and I don’t think I’ll ever fill it out. Sorry, kiddo. That year with a new baby and a pre-schooler in tow was too much for me to remember to do much else but make meals, do laundry and shower occasionally.

I think I had a “Baby’s first year”-type calendar with stickers, and that was certainly well-used, much more than the keepsake books. I would recommend this type of calendar to record special moments. If it’s handy hanging on the fridge you are far more likely to fill in the little things that mean so much.

I got this thing from the Hospital as a baby gift. Cant say i used it, not the calander, my baby was born in August and not the stickers. But it must be fun, especialy the fitting into the jeans sticker.
