Munchkin Baby Care Cart: An Inexpensive Must Have Or A Dud?

I was browsing through baby products the other day (I have no idea why . . . I am not planning on having another baby), and I came across a product that sounded like something that I would absolutely want if I had a brand new baby: the Munchkin Baby Care Cart.

Why was I so excited by this? Because I am uber-organized when it comes to baby “stuff” . . . I had to be since I had twins. This seemed like the perfect way to conveniently store everything you would need for baby in one place because it keeps all of baby’s essentials within reach. You can keep your diapers, towels, clothing, accessories and changing supplies in one spot. And since I live in a two story home, there were way too many trips back and forth up and down the stairs since I always seemed to forget things. This would alleviate that problem for a frazzled, new (and tired!) mom.

The large bottom bins would be perfect to hold large, heavy items like towels, blankets and clothing. The top is perfect for all those little things you need throughout the day: wipes, diapers, rash cream, burp rags and on and on.

And it’s portable! The site claims the Munchkin Baby Care Cart rolls easily and the wheels can be removed if you are keeping it stationary. The site also claims that it has sturdy construction and is easy to assemble. The cost? Around 20 bucks. Sounds too good to be true, right?

According to the reviews, I think it is. People complained it was difficult to put together, flimsy, it sagged in the middle, and that is was NOT worth $20. Others said it was a great product at a great price. Mixed reviews, as usual. However, the bad reviews outweighed the good ones.

Bottom line, if you are looking for a convenient product that organizes all of your baby’s must haves, you should probably skip this one.

Munchkin usually has good products, so i cant imagine this being too bad. but for me, who is having a baby, I want my baby stuff to be organized in a way that its actually hidden from veiw, in a closet or something. I don’t need this to take up additional space besides for the carriage, seat, crib, and more, more more.

Why not just buy a change table with shelves underneath? That’s what I had and it was ideal, after a few months I could — and — change baby diapers in the dark because I was so tired and I wanted the baby to stay sleepy. Having the diapers and stuff on the shelves under the baby made it simple.

oops. That was supposed to read: “… I could — and did — change …”
