I love Melissa & Doug toys! Every item I’ve ever purchased from them has been very high quality and able to withstand the toughest abuse from my son and his friends. Plus, the toys themselves all tend to be really cute. Which is why I’m seriously considering buying this adorable vintage block set just to display in my office.
Even though my son is way past the stage of wanting to play with alphabet blocks, I can picture myself having all sorts of fun with this set. I love pictures of rooms in magazines that use the blocks to spell out the family’s last name or words like “PEACE†and “LOVE.†I’ve also seen craft projects that incorporate the blocks as the base of bookends or a wire photo frame display, both of which would be perfect in my office.
If you have a friend who is expecting a baby, please consider purchasing something like this adorable vintage block set! It’s very rare to find items that are pleasing for the parents to look at and still fun for baby to play with. Plus, your friend will surely appreciate the idea of a toy that has no batteries and promotes creative play.
My son did have a set of alphabet blocks that he loved to stack and build with when he was a toddler, although it was not nearly as cute as this set. The blocks are great for teaching your child basic preschool readiness skills like what sound each letter makes and how to identify all of the primary colors.
