Quick! One of the kids fell and scrapped a knee! It’s bleeding, has dirt in it, and probably is going to need some antibiotic ointment, too. Where’s a bandage? Do we even have any cotton or gauze to clean it up? Yep. This was my first notable Mommy Fail. I do have bandages and cotton balls, but never in the same place. And I’m not really good in emergency situations. Which is why I was beyond excited when I found the medibag.

The medibag is a pediatrician-recommended first aid kit for the home that is highly awarded in the juvenile industry. It comes complete with 117 first aid items as well as a coupon for a free, 45-item refill kit!

It makes a great baby shower gift, and there’s even space on the front of the box that allows for personalization.

Then there’s the medibuddy:

This is the the compact version of the medibag. It’s also in a plastic case, and is small enough to fit into a large purse, diaper bag, or the car (which is where I leave mine). This kit comes packed with 40 first aid items, and has helped me out more than once when we were on the go.

There are several other kits, including one for the diaper bag and one for oral care.

All of these products are exclusively manufactured in the USA, were invented by a mom and each purchase gives back to people in need.

I have both the medibag and medibuddy kits, and I highly recommend them if you do not already have a first aid kit. They are both reasonably priced ($16.95 and $5.95), and have been worth every penny to me.

Now, if I can just remember to refill the bandages when they are gone…

Having a wet wipe and a bandage and lollipop in your bag when it’s needed makes you the BEST MOM EVER. Knowing you are ready for a scrape or a cut makes you feel like you are doing your job, and when your teary-eyed toddler knows she can count on you, that’s a sublime feeling.

I’ve always managed to calm the child, in the end. But these are cool. I can just imagine whipping out my kit and attending to the bruise, if i can find the kit, that is.
