Mattel’s Whac-A-Mole game brings the fun of the arcade to your living room. Next time you can’t handle the thought of a trip to Chuck E. Cheese, make some frozen pizza and let your kids go to town with this cute toy.
The game operates on the same basic principle as the Whac-A-Mole at your favorite arcade. The moles light up, then you hit them with a plastic mallet. It’s simple, but fun.
My son first started playing as a preschooler and he still loves it three years later. Even his grandma gets a kick out of playing with the game. It’s very well made and can take a solid hit, so you don’t need to worry about your kids breaking it if they whack on the moles too hard.
What I like most about this game is that you can play with a friend or against the clock. Since my son is an only child, having toys that give him the option to play by himself is always a plus for me. Although, I have to admit that there is something strangely satisfying about attacking a cluster of plastic moles when you’re having a bad day.
When I first purchased this game, I was a little concerned it would go through batteries very quickly. But, we haven’t found that to be the case at all. The noise gets a little irritating for grown ups after awhile, but I think that’s to be expected with this type of toy.
