If you’re a mom with a boy who loves toy cars, you’ve probably wondered if the Matchbox Cliff Hangers play sets are a good investment. Matchbox Cliff Hangers are designed to be clamped to a table or door to get them up off the floor and provide new ways to play. There are a few different sets in the Matchbox line, including a police station and a fire station that combine nicely to make a city themed play space for your child.
The police station play set did a fairly good job of entertaining my seven-year-old son. He liked the fact that it had different levels to play on and enjoyed using the crank to pick cars up.
I was a little concerned that the plastic seemed kind of flimsy, but so far it seems to be holding up to active play. I like that it folds down to be fairly compact, so it’s not hard to store when your child is done playing.
You may have noticed that the Cliff Hangers concept is similar to the Hot Wheels wall tracks. I like that the Matchbox toy doesn’t require batteries and make loud noises when it’s being used. But, because of the setup of my son’s room, the Hot Wheels wall tracks end up getting used more often.
The only place he can clamp the Matchbox toy to is the kitchen table, where it’s in the way after a bit and has to be moved to another location. So, my advice to parents is to think carefully about the space available in your home before deciding which toy to purchase.
Does your child have one of the Matchbox Cliff Hangers play sets? If so, what do you think of this toy?
