In theory, I love the idea of making cute Bento lunches for my son. In reality, however, I just don’t have the energy to carve an egg to look like a leprechaun or to construct a rainbow of chopped fruit before I send him off to school in the morning.
When I pack his lunch, I stick to simple things like sandwiches and cups of applesauce or some dried fruit in a reusable bag. But, one thing I do like to do is use sandwich cutters to make the main part of the meal look a bit more appealing.
I have several different sandwich cutters, ranging from hearts to dinosaurs. I like to mix it up and use a different one each time, so it’s a surprise when he opens his lunch. What I like about the Munchkin silly sandwich cutters is that they make neat cuts and can be thrown in the dishwasher for cleaning.
They’re also arranged so that you don’t have any waste with the sandwich. I have some cutters from the local dollar store that are cute, but they are so much smaller than the bread that I have a lot of leftover sandwich when I’m done.
Munchkin sandwich cutters are actually great for a variety of things. For breakfast, you can use them to make cute shaped pancakes. If you like to make craft projects with your child, you can also use them to make adorable salt dough ornaments that can be painted and given as gifts to Grandma and Grandpa. (I really like the puzzle pieces for this particular project.)
