MAC Hot Gossip Lipstick Is a Gorgeous Everyday Shade for Cool-Toned Ladies

My husband and daughter picked out Hot Gossip lipstick from MAC for me with the help of the lady at the counter using a picture and my daughters skin tone for reference. I thought that was pretty thoughtful, so of course I love it.

Hot Gossip, a mid-tone pinky plum, had also been on my to buy list for quite some time anyway, so I already knew I wanted it (they didnt).

The formula is one of the best MAC has to offer, in my opinion. Its a cremesheen, which means its creamy, just like the name suggests, and it reflects light (also as the name suggests) to make your lips look plumper. Its opaque enough to cancel out your natural lip tone, but not so matte or thick that its uncomfortable or drying.

It gives more color than your average lip gloss with almost as much comfort. This formula adheres to lips almost as well as a matte shade, though, so it doesnt have the tendency to show up on my front teeth like some other formulas (from MAC and others) or glosses.

The shade itself is a mix of pink and plum with some shine (not high gloss, just a sheen). Id consider it medium in tone, so it will work well on light, medium, or dark skin—as long as you have cool or neutral undertones.

This is almost an everyday shade for me and I think you could wear it on casual days, to work, or even on date night. I say its almost an everyday shade because theres too much color to wear it on fair skin with most smoky eyes, and sometimes I prefer something with a little more warmth to match my neutral skin tone.

Overall, the shade is gorgeous, it feels good on my lips, and it even smells like vanilla just like all the other MAC lipsticks. It sells for $15.
