One tried and true method for soothing a newborn into sleep is swaddling. When we had our first child, the nurses showed us how to swaddle like only the pros know how and we realized that it was magic. So, we dutifully wrapped our sweet little bundle burrito-style each time we put her down to sleep because it meant that we, too, would get sleep.

Years later, the value of swaddling was confirmed again when we saw the NICU nurses do the same with our 28 week old preemies. Infants find comfort being swaddled because it mimics the snug feeling of the womb, which is essential when you have infants born prematurely. Swaddling also limits the startle reflex which often wakes babies from sleep.

What we didn’t have for our first for child for those burrito-wrapping sessions was the Luna Lullaby Soothing Swaddle Blanket. It is the perfect swaddle blanket. The size, the breathable fabric, and the aesthetic designs all make the purchase worth while. Not to mention, years later, when we are years beyond the swaddle, we are still using the blankets for light covering of our toddlers in bed or as travel blankets in the car or on an airplane.

When our twins came, the Luna Lullaby Swaddling Blankets were perfect because they are made from lightweight muslin and they didn’t cause our little ones to become overheated in our then Hawaiian home. And, as our girls became little chunky monkeys, but still wanted to be swaddled, the blankets stretched to meet that need.

So if you’re looking for a great swaddling blanket, this is one to consider.

Here are some additional details on the Luna Lullaby Swaddling Blankets:

  • They come in packages of three.
  • Patterns and colors available for boy, girl or gender neutral.
  • Large 44×44 size allowing for multi-use.
  • Stretchable, breathable muslin fabric.

Uses for the Luna Lullaby Blanket:

  • Swaddling of infant
  • Travel blanket
  • Nursing cover
  • Lightweight sunshade on stroller

To this day, we still use the Luna Lullaby blankets. They wash and wear well over time and remain soft. I have passed them along to friends and they have held up. They really have been one of my favorite blankets for our young children.

My kids are well past the swaddling phase (and no more on the way!)…oh I miss that!

Sounds like a good product. I swaddle my son and I would recommend it for all parents. It improved my son’s sleep time by at least 2 hours
