Little Miss Matched

There are approximately 174 purses in my house.

2 belong to me.

The rest? An eclectic collection of Barbie, Hello Kitty, Disney Princess, peace sign and tie-dyed purses belonging to my daughter.

I have learned that for some girls, the addiction starts early.

But watching tweens tote around real designer handbags kind of gets my goat. Call me old-fashioned, but I think designer duds are best left for grownups.

I believe girls should have girly handbags that are age-appropriate: bright, fun, youthful.

I am over the moon for these little mini shoulder bags from Little Miss Matched for those very reasons.

They just scream “fun for girls.”

These cute little purses are perfect for young girls. Measuring 6 inches by 5.5 inches, they’re a great introduction to the world of fashion handbags and just big enough for a tween to pack her lip gloss, cell phone and a few other essentials.

The shoulder strap is adjustable, and the purse has two sides, each with a different but coordinating pattern made of canvas.

I like this funky pattern with bright tones.

Some girls like a bit more bling, and the new Signature nylon mini bag, outfitted with gold accents and “LMM” logos over it fits the bill.

These purses make me smile. And, for $13, they’re well priced for a little girl to save up for on her own and buy a few. Or I could see giving these instead of party favors for a sleepover birthday party for 3 or 4 friends.

    I love the purse in the top photo. With all those colors, it is sure to match any outfit your daughter wears, so you can justify tossing all the others and tell her to stick with one. If she’s buying handbags, the money is coming from somewhere, right? Better to show her to how to stop the addition early and save the allowance money for college. :)

    how old are tweens, exactly? the ones I know, of twelve years old, are so infested with designer names, I could cry. They would never go for funky stuff.
