When I was a kid, one of my favorite crafts I got to do at camp involved stickers and a light switch cover. I felt like it really made a difference in my room for some reason, and it was a personal touch that seemed like a much bigger deal than the random pictures and artwork I’d put on my walls up until then.

I can’t really understand the significance of having a light switch cover that wasn’t just plain beige or white, but judging by how much my friends also enjoyed theirs, I don’t think I was alone. Now there are so many more options that involve more than stickers and a blank light switch cover.

Look at Etsy, for example. ModernSwitch alone has tons of designs to choose from that can be the finishing touch in a kid’s room, and by letting him or her choose which one to put up, having it on the wall will feel much more special.

Easier than painting, changing out a light switch cover just takes a few turns with a screwdriver and it may help appease a child that’s saying, “My room looks so booooring.” I hear that one all the time.

The designs at ModernSwitch use high quality fabric, but if you’re feeling crafty or you’re looking for something to do with your kids, you can purchase plain light switch covers and then pull out the stickers, paint, or whatever else you’d like to use. Either route you go, you’re adding a little pizazz to your kid’s room.
