Lego Champion Board Game: Fun For the Family
I’ve mentioned before that we love to play board games. We have to wait until the twins go to bed (they’re only 2 and just want to eat all the pieces), but our son loves to play with us. It keeps us busy and helps him learn, and we all enjoy it. He also loves LEGOs, so when I saw the new LEGO Champion game, I thought it would make a perfect Christmas gift!
Not only is the game new, the concept is too! LEGO just introduced us all to Lego Games, the world’s first collection of games that you build, play and change. Each game comes with buildable LEGO Dice and changeable rules . . . changeable rules! I can’t wait to check that out!
In the LEGO Champion game, the goal is to build a track (of LEGOs of course!) as you race for the finish. Only one person will win the many challenges, claim the trophy and become the LEGO Champion. The game is for 3 to 8 players, ages 7 and up. However, I read some reviews and younger children can play too. They just might not be able to do all the challenges.
Three of the challenges are physical ones that require players to play a form of Bocce ball by tossing bricks at the die, one is a Jenga-in-reverse kind of challenge, and another requires players to build a copy of the first player’s model using one of each color brick.
There are also mental challenges like guessing the color order in which three blocks have been built or guessing how many of one color is held in player’s hands.
It sounds like a lot of fun and I think my son will enjoy all the building and guessing . . . who cares who wins as long as it’s fun!
Do you think your children would like a LEGO game?
